Microsoft: There will be A Halo movie [video]

On the Conference of future of television East, Microsoft's Frank O'Connor to an area that focuses on the Grail of TransMedia sat last week.

Halo's franchise development Director is a highly innovative, stocky man who looks like a feisty Boxer. And he is proud, bordering to arrogant on the series of games which sold so many Xboxes praised."We want Halo on each screen have we to have access," said O'Connor. indeed would be the height of ubiquity.

After the Panel a high network executive came up to O'Connor and said: "We want to do with Halo."

O'Connor shot back, "Bring money pile."

The Executive Branch, baffles, replied, "For Halo, we will."

Moments later, I spoke with O'Connor in a lounge area for the event Conference producers outside NYU's new Stern School of business Auditorium old-fashioned.

The first thing, O'Connor said was "There be a Halo movie."

Yet? after all these years after Peter Jackson as a Director and Denzel Washington as the star still talk?

"Film, the Director, Microsoft wanted everyone a Halo to do the highest placed people at film companies."

So what happened?"It was the lawyers," said O'Connor."When you went behind closed doors with the treaties, things fell apart." O'Connor, said the primary sticking point was the fact that Microsoft owns all rights in Halo, and means, and licensing. "The problem was that the film company make no money on the movie."

Hollywood is populated by a strange breed bean counters and lawyers.O'Connor, said you expect to make money on a movie that bombs at the box office, not only by DVD sales, but also by licensing products with both urgency and occasional aufzugeben.Sie couldn't do with Halo that broke the project grew.

O'Connor is adamant, when he says that Microsoft prominent Director in his or her your own way on a film Halo lights to the happy would allow."If Danny Boyle wants to make a film directed by Danny Boyle style which is great.""Danny Boyle Danny Boyle are to lassen.Wir no Director would limit."

"But might be the smartest place for a Halo project to a network such as Showtime or HBO."We would love to see Halo as a TV series.Look what's HBO with band of brothers or even Rome."Such a thing would work because the Halo universe is so enormous."In a Miniseries or a longer ongoing series depth would one that Halo myth drill - are treated when the writers and directors were enough intelligent fans of to deeper, more explorative narrative.

Then he said again: "a Halo Film.Wir will need no Film.Aber we want a Film.Wir to mothers of players, the films to see because you are dear würde.vielleicht our characters we fund it ourselves."

It makes Sinn.Wenn a group of fans one rather than can than what move below, imagine the possibilities for a Halo movie done right.
