Crysis 2 will hit all platforms (Wii excluded, I assume) this holiday season and will feature New York City, giant robots, aliens, and 3D for all platforms. That’s right, slap on some special glasses and play Crysis in full 3D. And try not to vomit everywhere. They also showed plenty of footage and cutscenes, so we’ll try to get our hands on those as soon as possible.
CliffyB just stormed the stage to announce that the deliciously over-the-top Bulletstorm is aiming for a release of February 22, 2011. We’ll try to bring you footage of the gameplay so you can hear all of the ridiculous dialogue for yourselves. Seriously, it’s nuts.
It’s been announced that every player in Star Wars: The Old Republic will get their own Starship, which will act as their base of operations. Your starship will be unique and a represntation of yourself. As expected, nerds flipped out. Including myself. They showed a trailer that we’ll try to get up soon.
It looks like Microsoft is redoing the whole line of 360 consoles. It’s been confirmed that the Arcade Edition Xbox 360 will also be getting a fancy makeover just like the $299 model. It’s unknown what the new overhaul will entail, but I think it’s a pretty safe bet that it won’t have built in wi-fi and that the hard drive will be substantially smaller than 250GB, if it even has one. Until the change happens, the standard white Arcade model will still be available for purchase.
In my experience, MadCatz gear always seems to break on me. Then again, that’s because I’d use them heavily, whether it’s controllers or mats or something. Maybe with their new Kinect accessories, they won’t break. Since I won’t really touch them.
MadCatz announced three Kinect accessories today after Microsoft’s E3 conference, the Base Adapter, the Floor Stand, and the Panel Mounting Bracket. The Base Adapter allows you to connect your Kinect to a camera tripod to make space for $14.99, the Floor Stand is basically a stand with a built in base adapter, for $29.99. The flat panel mounting bracket is a mounting bracket for anyone with a TV attached to their wall. It allows you to mount your Kinect to the bottom of your television on the wall- for $49.99.
I will not be buying any of these.

In Shaun White Skateboarding, you can reshape the world around you with the power of your skateboard. Seriously, the man gave birth to a tree by skating in a circle. The game will be for Xbox 360, PS3, and Nintendo Wii, and will also be playable in 3D.
It appears that Ubisoft is entering the laser tag business with BattleTag, a unique experience using the implements one would expect (electronic toy pistol

Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier is being displayed at E310. Players will gain access to optical camo, which will make them invisible. Players will also have “fucking rockets on shoulders,” as our own Bryce Wilson put it. The game will also focus much heavier on close combat that previous entries in the series.
Mankind… is doomed.
On November 9th, exclusively for the Wii, those wascally Raving Rabbids will come out of hiding once more in Raving Rabbids Travel in Time. As one might guess from the title, the titular Rabbids are, for whatever reason, traveling through time in a machine that looks like a cross between a washing machine and Bill & Ted’s telephone booth. There might be a flux capacitor in the lint trap, too, but we’ll have to get back to you on that.
Their first stop in the video, which opens with a Rabbid getting sucked through a time vortex in a similar fashion as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were in Ubisoft’s version of Turtles in Time, is the stone age. There, they observe as a cave man attempts to invent fire.
As it would happen, the caveman isn’t quite as brilliant as one might imagine the creator of fire to be, and the Rabbids have quite enough as one whips out a zippo and shows cro-magnon how it’s done.
From there, they warp to ancient Egypt, and at an opportune moment: work on the great Sphinx is nearly complete! However, their intrusion leads to the monument losing its nose and the sculptor giving chase.
From there, they warp to another time period, where they find themselves underground, holding on for dear life to… a sword blade? Suddenly, something tries to pull the blade from the ground, which is revealed to be a noble knight named Arthur… who himself gets warped out of time and replaced by a kindly old lady.
And so a new legend begins…
The history of the human race will probably never be the same when the Rabbids are done with it. More as it comes.
Over it’s lifetime the Xbox 360 dashboard has changed more times than I’ve sworn. Well maybe not, but it does change a lot. Slated to be renovated once again, this time to make better use of the Xbox 360 Kinect (Project Natal for all you living in the past), it looks sleaker, easier to navigate and better than ever before. And I don’t mean to be “that guy”, but it looks a lot like the Wii’s channel based menus…
Just as a demonstration, below is the old dashboard.

With Maniaplanet for the PC, you can create games with other gamers. You can play FPS, racer, and RPG. It comes from the people behind Trackmania, which was big for all of its user-created content. There aren’t a lot of details at the moment, but it seems to have a lot of potential.
Just when you thought we already knew everything about Driver before it was even close to launch, Ubisoft announced a few new features including for the first time, fully licensed cars appearing in the title. That’s right, if you ever have felt like going on a rampage at your local in-game shopping mall, then driving off into a blazing horizon in your brand new Ferrari

Don’t you hate when you are so eager to buy something, then the price tag is made public, then you think “Wow, it’s expensive but I really want it!”? That’s what I am getting right now. Announced only minutes ago, the Xbox 360 Slim will be available from July 1st in Australian stockists all over the country. EB Games will be stocking the brand new, sleek and sexy console for $449 AUD. That’s $150 more than the Arcade, but when you factor in that the in-built WiFI adapter is about $140 stand alone, and the 250GB Hard Drive is $190, it’s easily worth it.
For those of you in the dark about this new console it includes;
Sleek New DesignA bold design and the glossy black finish mean the new Xbox 360 looks every bit as good as it performs.
250GB Hard DriveThe massive hard drive is perfect for downloading and storing HD movies, games, game add-ons, music and more.

Steam is such a great platform. Digital downloads, cheap games, and great deals, such as this one titled “EA Week”.
Similar to SEGA Week that ran a while ago, EA week will feature a game each day for the coming week and slash the price heavily. Featured today is Crysis and it’s expansion, Crysis: Warhead. Both titles are slashed by 50% and are definitely worth picking up. We will keep you informed on the discounts each day so make sure to watch this space.
If you want to purchase Crysis or just check out the Steam page for EA Week, click right here.
A lot of news has come out of E3 already, and it’s only been one day of presentations so far. With all of the news, and all of the words, it’s hard to know what exactly we should care about and what we should read. While the details in all of our posts are great, and helpful for understanding what happened today, here’s the short, colloquial summaries of the news we got today.
New Xbox is out. 250GB built in, WiFi, same price. Super super quiet. It’s out /now/. Well, this week- they’re shipping them out now. Everyone in the audience got a free one. E3 10: Australian Xbox 360 Slim Price Confirmed. They’re redoing all the Xbox models as the new one. I want it.Natal is Kinect, coming at launch with 15 titles. $149.99, regular prices games. Set in the future. You can go invisible and do close range combat.Ubisoft is making a lazer tag game called BattleTag. Not for any console, it’s just laser tag.Shaun White Skateboarding looks like hot hot stuff. The story of Fahrenheit 451 (but readingOne of the high points of Microsoft’s presentation today was Metal Gear Solid: Rising. Series creator Hideo Kojima himself came onstage to introduce the trailer, which featured several minutes of gameplay.
Metal Gear Solid is traditionally a PlayStation title, so it’s interesting to see it demoed at e3 at Microsoft’s keynote. Hopefully this signals a move for more titles in the series to make the transition to the Xbox.
The most impressive part in the trailer is the sword. Apparently, it can be used to cut though just about anything in the game. In the trailer the player chops through columns, causing a complete section of a building to collapse. Near the end, the player is shown slicing a watermelon into precise sections.
No release information was given, but I’m definitely looking forward to more info on this game.
In a quick and easy announcement, EA has dated Epic Games and People Can Fly’s Bulletstorm.
The ’symphony of blood,’ as it was called on stage during EA press conference earlier today, will hit the shops for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on February 22, 2011.
The single screenshot above (available larger here) was also sent out.
Vietnam is coming to Battlefield: Bad Company 2; The punishing jungles will set the stage for the ever-destructive battles powered by DICE’s Frostbite engine as the first expansion pack arrives “this winter”.
The expansion will take on the well-known formula of the Battlefield franchise head on, bringing updates such as enhanced persistence, new weapons, vehicles, unlocks, awards, achievements and trophies. But, more importantly, are the four brand new maps that will be playable in classic Conquest and Rush modes.
Pricing and the exact date of delivery were excluded from the press release, but in case you missed EA’s press conference at E3, feast your eyes on the very short but to-the-point teaser of the expansion pack above and let the hype begin.
The smoke has at last cleared around Medal of Honor’s DICE-developed multiplayer component.
The online portion of the October-bound shooter was revealed during EA’s presser today with a live on-stage demo of a 24-player match. It looked and felt quite a bit like Battlefield: Bad Company 2 to the TVGB collective, but the devil’s always in the details, isn’t it? Agree or disagree, the trailer above should assist in making a determination.
The beta date and platforms have also been formally confirmed: June 21 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It’s said to be “global” and “massive,” though no details on how to gain access has yet been revealed. Except early access, that is; those who own Bad Company 2 and have pre-ordered MOH can get access on June 17.
Straight out of EA’s E3 press conference comes the announcement of Gun Club, an affinity program rewarding gamers for playing their favorite games. Members will receive benefits ranging from in-game content unlocks, early access to beta tests and demos, as well as the hottest news and exclusive access to development teams.
Gun Club brings together the company’s best games — involving any kind of apparatus that fires some kind of projectile or laser beam at high velocity — including Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Medal of Honor, Dead Space 2. How? For instance, if you purchased Battlefield: Bad Company 2, therefore have a VIP code, and become a member of the Gun Club, you will get early access to the Medal of Honor multiplayer beta that’s supposed to start June 21st. But for you, it’ll start this Thursday, June 17th that is. And you’ll get an full game unlockable weapon too, the M24 sniper rifle.
“This program takes our games from being individual launches to being part of an ecosystem within our portfolio, while showing fans our appreciation for their loyalty. The Gun Club gives us a platform to cross-pollinate our games, dialogue directly with players and add value to the entertainment experience for fans,” says Jeff Karp, Senior VP of Marketing at EA. “Today, we are launching the Gun Club with Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Medal of Honor - two of the hottest titles coming out this year… and this is just the beginning.”
Jumpgate Evolution, the futuristic MMO-in-space to be published by Codemasters, just got a new trailer out of E3. This one appears to be doing more than its predecessor by way of setting up the universe, which it does via an angry, militant leader hollering at you for the duration of the clip about the progress and glory of mankind (he also mentions something about enemies, likely of alien origin, wanting to strip us of said glory–go figure). Though not much else can be gleaned from the clip, I suspect we’ll be hearing more about Jumpgate very soon.
The game, originally scheduled for a 2009 release, currently has no fixed launch date.
Here’s the trailer to go with that Fable III release date from earlier.
It’s full of “Albion needs a revolution” portent and pomp, as you would expect from our favourite British hyper-upper. We’re looking forward to getting stuck into this one.
Remember, it’s out on Oct. 26, exclusive to Xbox 360.
It was only a matter of time before someone decided it was time to start working on a dancing game, and with the Xbox 360 now motion-enabled through Kinect (formerly known as Project Natal), MTV Games and Rock Band-creator Harmonix have stepped up and created Dance Central.
The game will be released exclusively for the Xbox 360 and will take advantage of Kinect, Microsoft’s motion “controller” that was fully unveiled earlier today during the company’s E3 press conference. The game was also demoed on stage by some high-class dancers and a white guy trying to be one.
This game, from whatever angle you look at it, will do exactly what Guitar Hero and Rock Band have done for the last couple of years: sell, a lot. And it would in fact not surprise us if it was to become a console seller, or Kinect seller in this case.
Enhanced above is the debut trailer for the game. Have a look and feel the rhythm… you know you want to! Some screenshots in the gallery too.
One of the few and interesting things to come out of Ubisoft’s E3 press gathering today is Project Dust, a download-only title for Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and PC.
It’s a God game with an entirely dynamic world which players will be able to manipulate, be it ground, water, lava or what not. “The spiritual heir to Populous,” Ubisoft Montpellier creative director Eric Chahi calls it.
It’s currently scheduled for a Spring 2011 release.

It wouldn’t be a Microsoft press conference without Halo, would it? Today’s brought along the campaign reveal from Bungie’s 2010 effort, Halo: Reach, and surprise-surprise, the game’s got space battles; there’s almost two minutes of single-player gameplay footage in the trailer above, starting from the ground and working its way up to the darkness of space.
